Omen Def Supreme is the Omen Def Mk.II but fitted by default with all the upgrades: Radian 850 tweeter, Jupiter Copper capacitor, and a stability plinth that also precisely sets the Griewe gap.
The stability plinth is customer-installed and includes a complete set of slick, bearing-based leveling feet accessible from the top of the plinth, like Druid Six. This will be the only Omen Def model going forward. The main drivers are a pair of our nano-sanctified ZU103ND/G1-16 10” full-range, the very same as used in original Dominance, Definition Four and Druid Five. This acclaimed version of the Zu103 full range driver gives Omen Def Supreme realistic dynamic scale, contrast and expression along with expected Zu tone. You can think of this model as very close to the Definition Four without the powered sub-bass module, which makes this speaker a very good deal. The Jupiter Copper capacitors for the high-pass filter to the Radian 850 tweeter and Event internal wiring further refine the musicality and harmonic completeness of Omen Def Supreme. We've made all the upgrades standard!
Who's Omen Def Supreme for? We know the question will come up regarding why we have two $6,000 speakers in the line (Omen Def Supreme alongside Soul 6). Omen Def Supreme is for listeners whose music listening habits strongly favor large scale music, whether full symphony, stadium rock, massive metal, dynamic big band jazz, electronica or any other big, punchy music with huge dynamic swings. The dual main drivers arrangement further broadens horizontal dispersion and limits adverse floor and ceiling acoustic effects. This also points to the second reason to favor Omen Def Supreme at its price -- it's perfect for music systems that must serve both precision Hi-Fi and Home Theater needs. Omen Def Supreme is superb on big movie soundtracks, streamed or Blu-ray, and Blu-ray Audio discs.
This loudspeaker can energize any living room with the dynamics and scale of a rock concert or a symphony orchestra, yet still reveal the finest nuances of an intimate performance. You don't trade away nuance to get massive surges in sound; you don't get musical intimacy only to have to put up with dynamic indifference. Omen Def Supreme does all this without bullshit “hi-fi ” artifice and boat anchor amplification. It needs only a handful of watts to prove it. So if you want a speaker that delivers your music with all the passion and energy intact, you’ll want Omen Def Supreme. It’s quite simply the biggest sound per dollar (pound, yen or euro) you’ve ever heard.
Omen Def Supreme was conceived and created on our Definition four platform, but with Omen production methods and price targets. It’s a speaker that can go toe to toe with many of the best loudspeakers in the world, is happy with the vast majority of amps, looks sweet and is built to last a lifetime. All at a price that most working music heads can afford after a roof, wheels, taxes and groceries. You only have to buy them once. Omen Def Supreme stuffs the bulk of the performance features of our super sweet Definition IV into a similarly sized loudspeaker but at a greatly reduced cost. Omen Def gives you 80% or more of Definition performance for roughly a third of the price. To get there, some sensible sacrifices in sound are made, mainly in the superdeep bass area below about 38 Hz, along with some smart reductions in the complexity of construction. Place Omen Def Supreme and Definition side by side then look and listen. The value will be obvious. So what’s with the name? Omen Def Supreme features the same complement of drivers used in Definition Four but in cabinet with construction principles of Omen, reinforcing Omen series values of maximum sound for the money, with minimum stylistic extravagance. The result is classic Zu—clean, simple aesthetics, attractive proportions and sound quality that’ll blow your socks off. Omen Def Supreme is suitable for solid-state as well as vacuum tube amplifiers. It will make a budget amp sound better than you ever expected, yet can fully leverage the power and refinement of amps many times its cost.
