Rubber Footers (uncoated)

$24.99

Uncoated version of the Zu Rubber Hi-Fi Footers.

Price is for a set of four (4x). If you need enough for a pair of loudspeakers order two packs.

NOTE: The uncoated rubber footers may stain or mark lighter colored home wood flooring, the hi-fi version are coated and also have a clear urethan bottom-side ring to prevent color marking the flooring. Both pro and hi-fi version are based on the same part.

These specifically engineered rubber-type footers will significantly reduce the transmission of vibration between the loudspeaker and the floor. In most cases this reduces noise and improves resolution. They are much more than generic rubber footers. Engineering, material and molding by Tech Products, Ohio. Cleanup by Zu.

Four rubber footers will properly function and support up to 160 pounds (40 pounds max per footer). Rubber footers feature 3/8-16 female insert. This size also allows the pass-through of 5/16 inch, 1/4 inch and M6 screws. See photos for dimensional detail.

Here’s what these vibration damping feet do:

  • Reduce vibration between equipment and flooring.

  • Protect your wood or tile floor from impressions and digs without having to slide coins or glides under the original equipment ball-end footers. When installed, the gap-height necessary for some Zu speakers (the space between the bottom of the speaker and floor) is no longer altered by adjusting the footer, instead use magazines (Rolling Stone fits perfect) or the like between the floor and loudspeaker bottom to create the desired gap. [Details on gap here]

  • Where spikes cut through the carpet and couple the mass of the speaker and the floor, these footers decouple. Decoupling lowers the loudspeaker cabinets fundamental resonance significantly.

  • Your neighbors will also be less annoyed as these feet will significantly reduce the number of calls you get from those living under and around you.

  • Simple to install, the rubber feet have a threaded insert that fits the original ball-end footer screws. Simply remove the nut from the ball-end screws, turn the screw so there is about a 1/2” [12mm] visible, thread the rubber foot onto the screw and cinch it up by hand. The only tool you need is a wrench to loosen the 9/16” [14mm] ball-end screw nut.
