Zu Event-Power is a very high conductance balanced AC mains power cable designed around ZuB3™ E&M models. Event-Power will work for all audio power cable needs, high current amplifiers primarily but also DACs, A/Ds, master clocks, phono stages, desktop mixers and consoles, players, preamplifiers, mic preamps, streamers, signal processors and the like. Low power devices however, like all those just mentioned save high current amps, are likely served at least as well, maybe better, by Event-Power Light.

Event-Power excels in demanding high current amplifier service and it’s there where the technology and design of Event Power will be most apparent. In addition to very low resistance Event Power also features very high magnitude/high conductance shield to safeguard your gear, cable, wireless signals and your AC power from being corrupted by electromagnetic interferences—this cable will not radiate nor let electromagnetic interference. Wall Side Connector Options

Standard is the U.S. wall plug format (NEMA 5-15) Event Power is available with universal Schuko, and other wall plugs. Surcharges apply to all but the U.S. and Schuko.

Gear Side Connector Options

Standard termination for the component side is common C13 - C15. Event Power is also available with the Hubbell™ developed high-current C19 connector.

Burn-In

Yes, burn-in seems to make a difference on power cables. Why? Not sure exactly. And while not a huge thing (usually) Zu Event Power cable will require a fair amount of use before it’s fully burned in, roughly 400 hours, mainly due to the our use of Teflon. We do not recommend any burn-in devices or special recordings—and it’s not going to be some big dramatic revelation. We do recommend music you enjoy, preferably upbeat full spectrum recordings: rock, roots, full orchestra, big band.... For the possible hows and whys about burn-in please see our Answers section.

Installation Notes

Switch your power amp off prior to disconnecting or connecting your loudspeaker cables.

Now, wash your hands with soap prior to handling any cable with bare metal—you don’t want to push halides and other subtle tone robbers into the amplifier, cable or loudspeaker connectors. If you do touch the exposed contacts you might want to buff them with a clean cotton rag. Keeping the contacts free of contaminants ensures a long-term and trouble-free connection.

To clean plated connectors, shinny bright gold or silver colored ones, just use rubbing alcohol on a cotton cloth and some cotton swabs to get into the tight parts. If the connector being cleaned is bare copper or silver we recommend cleaning them with our favorite polish, Cape Cod™.

Anytime you are making an electrical connection make it a habit to inspect the contacts and clean them if they are tarnished or dirty. Our bare copper spade lugs may need to be cleaned every year, depending on how clean they are when connected and your environment. Most any copper polish will work for this though we have found Cape Cod™ to be excellent. Brasso™ is also good. Acid based cleaners are tricky, if you don’t have experience cleaning copper with acid we wouldn’t recommend that you start with your audio gear. Most of the time your terminals are going to be in good condition and just need a little buffing and for that you can use a bit of alcohol and a cotton cloth.

No maintenance is required for the Event Power cable or the connectors.
