Wasatch Speaker Cable 601

Wasatch Speaker Cable 601

from 59.00

Very limited quantity, when gone they're gone for good. Audio performance and noise rejection are close to our Mission LC. Sure it's not as pretty but if you want bang for your buck and looks are low on your priorities this is a killer deal!

Price is for a matched pair, one left, one right cable, prepped and stripped with bare wire ends. For modest surcharge you can have us install your choice of quality ITT banana plugs or our pure copper spades.

New old stock cable—forgotten inventory from two decades past. Designed for Wasatch by Sean Casey (a minor shareholder at the time) in 1999 and made to spec by Genesis Wire & Cable in Ogden, Utah.

This is a great sounding cable, with excellent resolution without being treble-forward or too rich. And with all that pure copper conductor (very low resistance) bass is deep, tight and impactful.

  • Cable is made up of 4x #14 wires in quadrupole.
  • #11 positive (+) / #11 negative (–).
  • 0.01 ohm resistance, 0.02 ohms Rs loop / 8' [2.5m].
  • .5nF parallel capacitance 8' [2.5m].
  • 1.9µH series inductance, 3.8µH Ls loop / 8' [2.5m].
  • Low 50 ohm characteristic impedance.
  • RF noise immunity is about 20dB better than twister pair.
  • Conductor is oxygen-free copper.
  • Polyethylene conductor insulation material.
  • High conductance 11 gauge size for positive and negative.
  • Skinny design for low visual impact, diameter is only 1/4" [6.3mm].
  • 100% made in Ogden, Utah, USA.

Despite being a closeout, these are complete with our 60-day 100% money-back guarantee and we'll pay return shipping.

Note: while this cable is fully compatible with low power or high power systems, those with gear that features spring loaded cable clips or barrier-strip screw terminals are going to have a hell of a time getting all this wire to fit due to the large conductor area.

Price is for a matched pair (one left, one right). Free shipping.

Wasatch Cable Works LC-601 is not a permanently directional cable; it can be used in either direction. However, we recommend you connect it so that the writing on the cable reads from the amplifier to the loudspeaker. Connecting it like this ensures matching channel fidelity, equal L/R burn-in results, and allows the user to easily identify direction after cable or gear swapping or cleaning.

Wasatch Cable Works LC-601 was designed to sound good right out of the box. However after about 200 hours of play thy will sound better. We do not recommend any burn-in devices or special recordings—just the music you enjoy, preferably upbeat full spectrum recordings: rock, roots, full orchestra, big band.... For the possible how and whys about burn-in please see our Answers section.

No maintenance is required for the cable or the connectors save for the annual bare copper or copper spade cleaning. If your connector or bare wire contacts are nice and bright, don’t worry about it. However, anytime you are making an electrical connection make it a habit to inspect the contacts and clean them if they are tarnished or dirty.
